The Holy Spirit speaks through the Holy Word of God; His life giving expression comes through each verse, and receiving the Word of God changes us. The Book of James is rich with life changing revelation, a feast to strengthen us and keep us on course. James gives practical truths about what it means to be declared righteous by God. He offers many clear insights on faith and on walking in the truth. We might view the book of James as the New Testament Proverbs, for much of its writings speak of heavenly wisdom from God that transforms us. The book of James gives us the understanding of the power of faith to produce good works. Faith works!

There's really nothing like the Passion Translations. They seem to really know more than many other translator's, like Jesus's mother's real name, and here his brother's real name (Jacob). I have read through many different versions of the Bible, but none have brought it to life like the Passion Translation does. I don't know exactly what it is, but it seems much easier to understand, and much more engaging.They also provide ample research evidence that is referenced at the end of each chapter that takes your understanding far beyond what it was before. The hard truth is that by not knowing things in historical context, we miss so much of the original meaning, and this translation helps to frame it. I now generally just stick to this translation and my 1611 KJV for comparison, but I think this does that one justice in all that I've compared.
The best part of all though is that it does bring the Passion. I feel more connected and immersed in the story of Jesus, or in this case Jacob (James)'s writing. I might be talking circles now, but it has everything you could want in not just telling the scriptures, but presenting their full meaning and passion.

I love this translation. I grew up in church and this has really helped me read the scripture in a new light instead of reading over some things I've read 1000 times. I have several of these books and Hebrews, James, and Romans have been my favorite so far, but they're all good.
I have been a Christian for 29 years, and I have used a number of Bible translations. Since I discovered The Passion Translation in March, I have used it as much as possible. It has brought out many shades of meaning that I had no idea about. I love the way Brian views everything thru the lens of The Great Commandment. This passionate love from God to us/from us to God comes through on every page. I only wish he had the whole Bible done. Goad for the many books Brian has put out so far! I highly recommend The Passion Translation for anyone wanting to passionately pursue Jesus.
I love this translation! I can't say enough good things about the Passion Translation!!! After reading James I want to read it again and possibly even memorize it! Life-changing!!

Hebrews is normally not a "quick read". I found myself laughing at this version because of the easy understanding level. James is always a "GOOD READ" and keeps me on my toes...trying to keep life in a good balance. This version is so clear! I recommend this highly!
You can't go wrong with the Passion Translation! It brings the scriptures to light and you learn so much! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for revelation from the scriptures.
Deep love and humility are oozing from this translation. I’ve read and re-read it a number of time. Each time I’m amazed. Hebrews holds your feet to the fire if you are serious about following Jesus.
I now own all the current books that Brian has translated and I'm praying that he will be able to eventually translate the entire Bible! This is my very favorite translation of scripture that I have read in my 43 years of reading the Word. It feels like someone is finally speaking my language without watering it down. I read this and the other books, he has translated, over and over and recommend them to everyone with a desire for more of God.
